Fresno has been ranked as the most affordable office leasing city.
A Californian city has been listed as the cheapest place in which to buy or lease office space in the USA according to a report by the Building Owners and Managers Association.
The Californian city of Fresno has been given the title of the least expensive city in which to buy or lease commercial office space across the USA which was based upon total operating and fixed costings.
At $4.25 per square foot of office space, Fresno is almost 75¢ cheaper than its nearest rival, the Mississippi town of Jackson which came in at $4.97 according to the Building Owners and Managers Association.
The Lousiana state capital Baton Rouge came third in the list with office space in their commercial properties being available for $5.48 per square foot. Virginia Beach in Virginia was fourth in the list with office space available for $6.20 per square foot, while Everett makes up the top five with $6.36 enough to buy or lease a square foot of commercial office space in the Washington State city.
The rest of the top ten are made up primarily from southern states, showing that whether deliberately or not, the south is still playing catch up with the rest of the nation.
With $6.59 per square foot of office space, the Arkansas capital Little Rock is sixth, Olkahoma state’s capital Oklahoma City is in seventh position with $6.66, just ahead of a non-southern city, Salt Lake City in Utah.
The final two positions in the top ten are made up of Raleigh in North Carolina, which offers $7 for each square foot of office space, whilst Norfolk in Virginia rounds off the top ten where $7.20 per square foot can see you lease or buy office space.
